The Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson seeks an experienced Manager of Plant Operations to join their team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

The ideal person for this leadership role is someone well versed in the management of various departments and staff and has a background in building and mechanical maintenance. This position reports to the Administrative Director of Operations and supervises plant operations, maintenance, and security staff.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Prepare annual capital, operating, and staffing budgets for maintenance, plant operations, and security departments including review of FTEs, financial data, and adjusting as needed to stay within budget.
• Provide leadership, direction, and decision-making on administrative details and projects pertaining to the upkeep of the facility and off-site buildings. Supervise all construction and repairs to hospital and off-site buildings.
• Establish/maintain policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and performance improvement measures to assure safe environmental and infection control standards; observe/maintain staff compliance.
• Coordinate activities and maintain required records for compliance with various regulatory agencies (i.e. JCAHO, State Fire Marshall, Dept. of Community Health, Dept. of Environmental Quality, Michigan OSHA standards).
• Actively participate/coordinate with Safety Chairperson to maintain facility in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain effective and professional working relationships/communication with various hospital departments and staff to ensure maintenance programs can be planned and maintained.
• Regularly inspect facility to ensure physical building, grounds, and equipment are maintained properly and all hazardous areas are properly identified.

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or 10 years’ work experience in building or mechanical maintenance or a combination of education, training and work experience in mechanical repair, plumbing, painting or construction.
• Supervisory level experience in maintenance or engineering required.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and building codes required.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair, and building maintenance (painting, plumbing, construction, HVAC, boiler system maintenance/repair) is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
