WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Use your knowledge of general chemical and physical properties of commonly used medications as they relate to storage requirements, cytotoxicity, flammability, basic diluents and solutions, principles of stability, basic calculations, and aseptic technique.
  • Understand and adhere to the “unit dose system of drug distribution”.
  • Label, fill and deliver medication to appropriate area (nursing unit, patient bedside, consumer, etc.), restock and exchange medication carts, charge appropriate accounts, and research/provide information as requested.
  • Follow department and hospital-wide policies and applicable Federal and State laws.
  • Assist in maintaining drug stock inventory and supplies.

SCHEDULES AVAILABLE.

  • Part-time working Monday-Friday with shifts 6:30am-2:30pm, 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or as assigned. This position participates every 3rd weekend in the rotating schedule.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan required, or ability to obtain license if hired for this position.

Patient Flow Enhancer: Operating Room

Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Identify common cardiovascular conditions limiting or otherwise influencing physical activity, dietary intake, lipid management, smoking cessation, diabetes management or stress management to improve heart strength and increase pace of recovery.
  • Develop rehabilitation plan involving exercise, dietary modification, smoking cessation, and stress management to increase pace of recovery. Interpret information obtained from appropriate methods of monitoring to ensure safety.
  • Develop a home exercise program, exercise prescription, and utilize American Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) guidelines to ensure safety and effectively guide the patient toward optimal restoration and maintenance of functional capacity.
  • Assess patient’s understanding of the disease to determine the individual’s system pattern and to identify patient goals and educational needs for rehabilitation. Formulate assessments of each patient’s functional activity level and tolerance to activity to ensure progressive rehabilitation. Terminate patient’s physical activity based on symptoms and assessments to ensure safe patient treatment.
  • Use appropriate AACVPR clinical standards of care safe and effective treatment to meet the needs of the individual cardiac rehab patient.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical staff on patient care to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Conduct/participate in clinical education programs to provide ongoing support to staff, students, and interns.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration or a related field preferred, or ability to obtain within 18 months if hired.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months if hired.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in nursing with at least 5 years nursing management experience required.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a proven track record of success in managing clinical services in a competitive market, leading and advocating for nurses, enhancing productivity, budget planning, reducing cost, developing new programs, and improving quality.
  • Experience working with labor contracts and labor negotiations helpful.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and joint commission guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Professional demeanor that promotes innovation, ensures trust, competence and compassion amongst team members.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
