Respiratory Therapist

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Plan, prepare and administer Respiratory Therapy treatment and procedures including administering oxygen/oximetry, bronchodilation therapy, vent management, pulmonary function test, arterial blood gas draw, attendance at all “codes” and C-sections, and EKG back up for CardDx using established

Patient Flow Enhancer: Operating Room

This position assists with care of patients while in our facility including such tasks as cleaning, stocking, patient transport, quality improvement, assisting patients and families with comfort needs, patient specimen collection, data entry, typing, and completion of various paperwork.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Monitor and restock supplies/forms needed for patient care (i.e., restock supply carts and warmers, put away sterilized instruments).
  • Transport and assist in the flow of patients (i.e., transports patients to pre-surgery center, IP units, etc., assist in preparing patients for procedures, ensures side rails are up and call light is within reach, move patients to their room after procedures).
  • Report any/all concerns to RN.
  • Clean patient rooms, instruments, back boards, etc., assist in the clean-up of operating room, staff room and nurses’ station, and collect data (vital signs, demographic information.)
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication with hospital staff, care teams, patients and their families (progress updates, reasons for delay, guest directions/information, offer beverages).
  • Pick-up surgical cases and applies patient stickers to appropriate charts.

The Specialist supports the Risk Management Team with policy and procedure development, accreditation standards, tracking, and assessing regulatory impact to the healthcare system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare system accreditation and regulatory policies, processes, procedures, protocols and workflows to ensure regulatory guidelines are met.
  • Participate in audit of systems and processes in place through a variety of data sources (reports, logs, records, electronic health records, direct observation) to ensure accuracy. Prepare reports outlining audit findings; track and monitor corrective action reports, and evaluate audits to see if corrective action has been implemented.
