The Marshfield Clinic Health System-Dickinson (DCHS) seeks a full-time Home Health & Hospice Administrative Assistant to join their team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
The Administrative Assistant’s primary role is to ensure a well-coordinated and efficient office by maintaining records, supplies, performing routine clerical duties and providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, caregivers, and co-workers.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts and related files.
- Monitor agency vehicle inventory (vehicle assignments, maintenance, etc.)
- Maintain effective and professional communication at all times with patients, families, caregivers and hospital staff in order to manage incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and deliver to appropriate staff member.
- Maintain office environment by keeping it neat and organized; maintain office and medical supply inventory.
- Audit patient records for accuracy and completeness (obtain physician signatures, discharge orders, etc.)
- Enter new patient referral information into computerized system; verify insurance information, scan documents, etc.).
WAGE. Starting pay of $17.71 – $22.67 per hour based on experience.

SCHEDULE. This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or as assigned.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Office, Business or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years clerical and/or medical office experience required.
- Previous office experience working in Home Health and/or Hospice preferred.
- Proficiency with computers, data entry and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, email) required.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust, competence and compassion amongst others.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
